One of cinema’s great character actors, Bob Hoskins died yesterday at 71 after a bout with pneumonia. I had the opportunity to meet and photograph Mr. Hoskins on a couple of occasions and he seemed like a charming and funny guy (see photo with woman’s purse). Best known for his role as a detective in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, the film holds a special place in my heart – it was the first date I went on with my future wife.
